DAYTIME CLASSES WINTER 2022

The winter term starts in January 2022, there will be ten sessions before the Easter break, after Easter we will continue for a further five sessions. Fees are payable in advance on a per term basis.

Intermediate French (part 2)

Fridays 1030-1200.

Fees: £120 per term for each of the 10-session autumn and winter terms, £60 for the 5-session spring term.


This course is for those who already know enough French to manage everyday situations  and to be able to hold a conversation on general topics such as travel, hobbies etc. You should have a good knowledge of the basics of French grammar and be ready to move on to more advanced topics and grammatical constructions. We will build on existing knowledge to improve confidence, accuracy and vocabulary and the correct use of all the tenses. You will need a copy of the coursebook Façon de Parler Book 2 (5th edition published by Hodder Education) plus the  accompanying CDs The textbook will be supplemented by additional material (sent by email) for further practice of listening, speaking and reading skills.

Conversation, listening, reading

Tuesdays 1045-1245.

Fees: £130 for the each of the 10-session autumn (September - December) and winter terms ( starting January), and £65 for the 5-session spring term (starting after Easter).


There is no textbook for this course but there will be some regular revision of grammar.  The aim of this course is to improve accuracy and confidence in conversation, to work on listening skills and to build vocabulary. We will work with a wide range of subjects and material for listening and reading comprehension and as a basis for conversation. The fee includes all material for the course which will be sent by email.

French Conversation

Wednesdays 0915-1115 or  Wednesdays 1330-1530


Fees: £130 for the each of the 10-session autumn (September - December) and winter terms ( starting January), and £65 for the 5-session spring term (starting after Easter).


This is the highest level course. For this course you need to be able to hold a conversation in French. You should have a good understanding of the correct use of tenses and other grammar. There is no text book for this course and all materials will be provided. The aim of this course is to improve fluency in conversation, to work on listening skills and to build vocabulary. We will work with a wide range of subjects and material for listening and reading comprehension and as a basis for conversation. The fee includes all material for the course which will be sent by email.
